Corsair Crystal 680X RGB Computer Case Review And Details - Dreamy! Review Game-Tech
Corsair dazzled gamers with the launch of the Corsair Crystal 680X Product. Here is the Corsair Crystal 680X Review
Today we are reviewing the Corsair Crystal 680X RGB model. This case, which attracts attention with its dimensions and volume, has a height of 505mm, a length of 423mm, and a width of 344mm. Although its class is specified as mid-tower, it has a different appearance than the usual mid-tower cases.
In the meantime, let us state that the reviewed product that came to us is white, but the case is also available in black.
The main reason for the different appearance of this case is that it consists of double sections. In the first compartment, you install the motherboard, your radiators, if any, your liquid cooling equipment, and fans. In the second compartment at the back, you place parts such as power supply, hard disk, and SSD. Also, you keep the extra cables that you do not want to be seen around in the second compartment. The total depth of this compartment is 11.5 inches.
Tinted tempered glass is used at 3 different points in the case. The side cover is made of tempered glass throughout. Tempered glass is also used on the top and front.
The side cover is attached to the case with 2 hinges and also sticks to the case with a magnet. When desired, you can remove this part completely by removing the 2 screws holding the side cover with the help of an alien key.
It is possible to remove the 4 flat screws holding the upper tempered glass in place with the help of a screwdriver or coin. The removable upper frame, which you can remove with 2 thumb screws that you access from inside the case, allows you to mount the fans and radiator outside of the case. You can also access the magnetic dust filter by removing this frame.
The tempered glass in the front does not come off. However, just like the upper part, you can remove the frame on the front by unscrewing 2 thumbscrews. When you remove this frame, you can easily access both the mounting holes and the dust filter. The vents and gaps in the front of the case are sufficient, 3 12cm or 2 14cm fans can be mounted here.
Corsair Crystal 680X Cooling Options
Corsair’s 3 LL series RGB fans come preinstalled on the front of the case. These fans are connected to the Corsair Lighting Node Pro RGB controller on the back of the case. You can find this controller in the cardboard box that comes out of the case by connecting one end to your computer with Mini USB and the other end with a female USB 2.0 header connection cable, and you can control the lighting of your fans with Corsair issue.
There is a removable plastic cover just to the right of the tempered glass in front of the case. When you remove this cover, you see a large area. This area is designed so that those who collect special liquid cooling systems can easily install the reservoir and pump.
Since the power supply is installed vertically in the rear compartment of the case, the floor of the front compartment remains empty. This is another area that can be considered for installing radiators and fans. Like the other fan slots in the case, there is a dust filter here and can be removed with a sliding system.
The case is really rich in terms of fan and radiator slots. It is possible to install radiators up to 360 mm to the front and 280 mm to the top and bottom. This shows that you can install a high-end liquid cooling system in this case.
When we take a closer look at the interior details of the case, we see that it also supports vertical graphics card mounting. When you buy a PCI-Express extension cable for this, you can mount your graphics card vertically at this point and display it.
Corsair Crystal 680X Motherboard Support
Corsair Crystal 680X supports E-ATX ie Extended ATX size motherboards. However, if you use an Extended ATX motherboard, you cover half of the rubber cable passages. This is not a loss, as these cable ducts abound in the case. There is one under the motherboard, 6 next to the motherboard, and 2 in the area above the motherboard. You can easily pass your processor power cable, fan and disk cables through these points and hide the excess parts in the back compartment.
In the back, we see the point where the power supply is attached. The case supports extremely long power supplies, and there is enough space here. However, the power supply fan needs to be installed facing the case cover, because there are air vents on the cover right at this point.
Corsair Crystal 680X Hard Drive And SSD Slots
Directly above the power supply are slots reserved for storage devices. There are 3 3.5-inch mechanical hard drive slots and 4 2.5-inch SSD slots. If you are satisfied with only the Nvm-e SSD, you can completely remove these slots by removing a few screws. You will likely need to remove these to access the back of the socket when installing the processor cooler. These slots are not actively cooled. So if you fill all the slots, they are likely to get hot. Still, Corsair has made the back of this place with honeycombs. We see these honeycombs in many points of the case, for example on the exhaust fan.
SSD slots are designed very practical. All you have to do is push the SSD in, and they are fixed themselves. You fit the hard disks on the plastic brackets so that the holes on the sides enter the protrusions and push them into their slots.
When we look at the input and output slots on the case and the part where the buttons are, we see that the case is equipped with up-to-date connections. First of all, the case has a 4-pole socket, which we call TRRS end, where headphone and microphone signals are transmitted through a single cable. Most of the current headphones now come with this tip. Another pleasing detail is that we see a USB 3.1 2nd generation port here. Instead of bending over the back of the case and looking for a Type-C slot, you can plug-in devices such as an external SSD and use them at full speed. In addition to these, we also see 2 USB 3.0 ports, power and reset keys here.
There is a fairly large gap behind the mounting plate of the motherboard. This space is very useful for mounting back-socket support plates without removing the motherboard when installing the CPU cooler.
An unlit exhaust fan is included in the case. This exhaust fan is 12 cm in size, but the case also allows 14 cm fans to be installed.
Results Evaluation
Corsair, which offers plenty of fan and radiator connection options and does not neglect to put dust filters at all these points where the air enters, has created an ideal case for those who want to collect an advanced system. This design saves the user the trouble of opening the case and cleaning the components one by one. If you plan to install a custom liquid cooling system over time, this case will be a good option.
