Phanteks P400A has impressed all users with its RGB and Cooling system. So what are the unknowns about Phanteks P400A? Here is the Phanteks P400A Review.
Closed fronts are on the rise again. This is also the case with Phanteks: The updated housings of the Eclipse P400 series are again air-permeable on the front. Instead of plastic surfaces, both P400A models use metal grilles. Buyers have to choose between fan and RGB control.
The Phanteks P400A hardly differs from its predecessors and is more of a gentle update than a major overhaul. With the Phanteks P400A, there is no RGB lighting in the front, whereas the acrylic window is replaced by a side panel made entirely of glass.
The chassis is taken over unchanged. Phanteks places a power supply unit and a HDD cage for two 3.5 “drives under a cover on the bottom of the case, and two 2.5” hard drives in brackets behind the mainboard. Four additional 3.5 “HDDs can be installed by purchasing brackets. The range of accessories also includes a bracket for vertical mounting of the graphics cards. Graphics cards and power supplies are not restricted in size. CPU coolers must not be higher than 160 millimeters which can occasionally lead to complications in the high-end sector.
Fan control versus RGB
The Phanteks P400A is offered in two versions. The basic version has a fan control that can regulate three 3-pin fans in three stages. It is delivered with two non-illuminated 120 mm fans.
Alternatively, Phanteks offers a slightly more expensive version that has an RGB control module instead of the fan control. This takes up the same space on the I / O panel and allows the choice of different effects or the synchronization of colors and light patterns via the mainboard. This model is delivered with three illuminated fans that are mounted on the front.
Further fans can be retrofitted under the cover and in the rear, radiators can be used up to a size of 280 millimeters or 360 millimeters.
Price and availability
Both Phanteks P400A should be available in stores from mid-August. The basic model is only available in black at a recommended price of around 80 euros, the RGB version, which costs around 90 euros, can also be obtained in white.
