Electric car giant Tesla does not only spread electric energy through cars. The company also offers alternative energy routes by covering the roofs of the houses with solar panels. This project, which was a little interrupted, started to spread slowly in homes, especially in the USA, last year.
Those who wanted to benefit from Tesla’s ” Solar Roof ” service, on the other hand, were hesitant due to a matter. How would the panels work when the roof was covered with snow in winter? Tesla’s solution for this was shown live in a video broadcast by a Solar Roof user.
While the neighboring roofs remained white, the Tesla roof remained black:
Solar Roof user Jason Lassen has equipped the roof of his house with Tesla’s solar panels. When he realized the future of snow, he started shooting videos and showed what the roof was like during and after the snow. Even when it was snowing, the roofs of other houses turned white, while some parts of the roof with solar panels did not get snow.
On the other hand, the daytime landscape after the night-long snowfall revealed Tesla’s success. The roof of the house did not contain any snow except in small places. The roofs of neighboring houses continued to have all the snow on, while Tesla’s panels threw the snow down all night.
Of course, the biggest reason for this is not a feature unique to Tesla panels, but a natural feature found in most solar panels. Solar panels can help this snow slide by generating heat when it snows on it. But the reason Tesla was the subject of this news was that solar panels covered the entire roof of the house and this roof was almost completely free of snow.
